Though she is only twenty one years old and has been playing guitar for nary a few
months, this author-singer-composer is possessed of an uncommon artistic maturity.
Her songs are direct and sustained by a hypnotic voice.
The 2011 winner of an NRJ Music Award (Francophone Revelation of the Year) is
now on tour throughout France after her first concert at Paris' mythical concert hall,
Olympia, on April 28, and after playing more than a hundred venues this year.
Her debut songwriter album «Sur mes gardes», arranged by acclaimed French singer
and composer Louis Bertignac, has been awarded Platinum with more that 120,000
sales in France.
In addition, Joyce Jonathan has had the privilege of seeing one of her songs
included in the soundtrack of an »Gossip Girl» episode. Her song "L’heure avait
sonné" following Parisian rythm Leighton Meester andcompany.
This exceptionally mature singer and songwriter will try to win over China and
Taiwan where she is expected to go on a special tour in June 2011, with concerts in
Taipei, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai. «I have always been keen on China and
my parents both speak Mandarin. This gave me the drive to have some of my songs
translated into Mandarin, a language that I find extremely melodious. This is the first
time I am singing my songs in a foreign language. I can't wait to be there and meet
the Taiwanese and Chinese public!
A venture that is already full of promise, since the single «Je ne sais pas», which is
already a hit in France, has ranked 4th on airplay in Hong Kong.
