She’s the beautiful, talented girl, with the incredible Afro and lucky gap between her teeth. She’s the one whose name means ‘Noble’. She’s the eldest of six siblings from a multi ethnic background and born of two parents who cultivated the loving, musical home environment that was to inspire her to pursue her dreams.
Nabiha’s 5th top 10 Airplay hit ‘Never Played The Bass’ has turned out to be one of her strongest singles to date. The track uses,
within its chorus, an interpolation of the phrase that most people will recognize from Womack & Womack’s smash hit ‘Teardrops’.
Since its release, ‘Never Played the Bass’ has received heavy airplay and has peaked as #1 on the Domestic Airplay Chart in
Denmark and #3 on the overall Airplay Chart (only topped by Madonna & Usher) and is now up for release in more than twelve
countries. The single has been certified with Gold for sales as well as streaming in Denmark and has for more than 8 weeks been
in the Top 20 on the Danish Airplay & Dance Chart.
Nabiha has turned out, not only to be a Danish darling but also a talent that is noticed internationally and her music can be heard
everywhere from TV, radio and film. The album ‘More Cracks’ has received great support from MTV.com as well as VH1 with
already more than twelve syncs on shows such as “Basketball Wives of LA”, “Mob Wives” and SoapTv/Disney and has been
noticed by the famous celebrity blog Perez Hilton and Elle.com with more pending requests.
In Denmark she has received nominations at the biggest award shows in categories such as ‘New Artist of The Year’, ‘New Talent
of The Year’, ‘Female Artist Of The Year’, ‘Listeners Hit of The Year’ and ‘Urban Hit of The Year’ to mention a few. She won the
award as ‘Artist Of The Year’ at The Best African Achievement Awards. Apart from award shows and nominations she has toured
with James Morrison, Jason Derulo and Jamie Cullum and has given performances in Denmark, Poland, France, Sweden,
Germany and USA.
2012 has been very busy for Nabiha with high profile performances on primetime national TV where she had the honor of being
picked to perform for HRM Queen of Denmark on her 40th anniversary celebration with all the European Royal families in
attendance. Also she performed at the biggest charity show of the year in Denmark and at the Danish version of ‘The Voice’.
Nabiha continues to spread her message of positivity but never forgets her strong roots, which continue to inspire her music and
life. Her strong positive female image was developed at home. “I grew up with a welcoming, loving, strong Mother and
Grandmother figures who taught me a lot, I was constantly inspired by love and people around me, I feel lucky.”
As a young girl, Nabiha explored music at school by taking lessons in various instruments until the encouragement of a teacher led
her to try singing. Her first performance was a hit, shortly followed by experiments in various genres of music including an allfemale
ska band, rock, jazz, urban, r&b and electronic/house. All of which are woven into the fabric of her music today.
Nabiha is very proud of both her Danish and African heritages; she tries to stay connected to Africa and visits as frequently as
possible. “The way people care for each other in Africa is inspiring, happy, positive, they share what little they have with you,
everyone should try to visit in their lifetime.”
All of these things make up the woman and her music, Nabiha’s positive gift to the world.
