Major Lazer debut a new song “Lay Your Head On Me” featuring Marcus Mumford today—listen here. The track, Mumford’s first ever collaboration of its kind, was co-written with MØ and premiered last night as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World on BBC Radio 1.

Marcus Mumford is the frontman of the Grammy-award winning band Mumford & Sons. Stepping out as a featured artist for the first time with this track, Mumford also just released a new charity single—a solo cover of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” originally made famous Gerry and The Pacemakers in the 1960s. After striking up a friendship with Diplo, the two began experimenting in the studio together and an early demo of “Lay Your Head On Me” was born.

“Lay Your Head On Me” follows “Que Calor” featuring J Balvin and El Alfa, which was performed by Balvin at the Super Bowl alongside Jennifer Lopez and is still climbing charts worldwide with more than 400 million streams to date.

Diplo’s Major Lazer unveils “Que Calor” featuring J Balvin and Dominican dembow pioneer El Alfa, alongside a brand new video today; listen and watch HERE. Following previous collaborations with both featured artists “Que Calor” takes inspiration from each of their home countries, sampling Toto La Momposina’s traditional Colombian-cumbia classic “Curara” and Dominican dembow rhythms. The Jamaica-via-Dominican Republic cousin of reggaeton is rooted in dancehall riddims and hip-hop sounds and has been taking the Latin world by storm thanks in large part to El Alfa and his collaborators.

Directed by VMA and BET Award winner Colin Tilley (Kendrick Lamar, Future, Nicki Minaj) and choreographed by fellow VMA winner Calvit Hodge, the video stars Major Lazer’s Diplo and Ape Drums as well as Balvin and El Alfa alongside two of the band’s legendary Lazer Gyals, Sara Bivens and Helen Gedlu.

The new track follows summer release “Make It Hot” featuring Brazilian superstar Anitta and is the latest from Major Lazer’s forthcoming and highly-anticipated fourth album. The tracks are the latest examples of a rising trend of collaborations between Latin music’s biggest stars and global dance artists, and a continuation of Major Lazer’s longstanding celebration of Latin music, notably with the Daddy Yankee remix of their 2013 smash “Bumaye,” and collaborations with Machel Montano, Kali Uchis, Pabllo Vittar and more.

MAJOR LAZER “MAKE IT HOT” FEATURING ANITTA
Just in time for the first day of summer, Diplo’s Major Lazer debuts summer single “Make It Hot” featuring Brazilian superstar Anitta today, in partnership with Bacardi. The song unites Spanish-language vocals from Anitta with the group’s dancehall-inspired signature sound.

The track is the group’s second collaboration with Anitta following “Sua Cara,” which was the fastest video to reach 1 million likes on YouTube and one of the biggest YouTube video launches of 2017 with more than 25 million views in its first 24 hours.
“It’s amazing when you work in synergy with someone who completes you artistically,” says Anitta. “Having the opportunity to write/compose another song with Major Lazer was really special. We have developed this energy that is similar to being around family and close friends when we work together. It’s good to be able to bounce ideas off each other and that’s something that happens naturally now. I think it’s difficult for anyone to listen to this song and remain still.”

Major Lazer is named for the group’s fictional figurehead, a one-armed, Jamaican Zombie War commando with an experimental lazer arm and a secret identity as a Trinidadian dancehall club owner, embodying the group’s mission to free the universe with music. With the help of his longtime allies, Major Lazer has gone on to release 2009’s Guns Don’t Kill People…Lazers Do and 2013’s Free The Universe successfully reaching billions across the world with their message of world peace. In 2015, Major Lazer returned with Peace Is The Mission, this time enlisting friends from across the globe in an effort to achieve his goal of making the world smaller by making the party bigger. International superstars MAJOR LAZER - the collaborative project of Diplo, Walshy Fire and Jillionaire – today release the official video for their brand new single ‘Blow That Smoke’ featuring Swedish pop sensation Tove Lo, out now via Because Music/Mad Decent. Conceptualized by Tove Lo, the video was directed by DAD (Camila Cabello, Gallant, Alina Baraz), the director duo of Grant Spanier and Corey C. Waters.

“From the beginning we pitched the project as a story of imagination, escape, inclusivity, music and mischief,” says DAD of the video. “The original concept came from Tove Lo and we brought it to life with both artists’ (super creative) teams.
