As a child growing up in Nigeria, NazB was surrounded by the music of his native West African homeland. With members of his immediate and extended family playing instruments and singing, music was a part of his upbringing.
His persistence and perseverance eventually gained him the nickname Nazodobas, which eventually evolved into NazB and became his rapper alias,In his early teens, he began performing at local clubs and slowly building a loyal audience.
He made the tough decision at 18 to leave home and make a musical name for himself outside of his home country. NazB hit the road and eventually lived among the street life of Mali, The Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal, South Africa, Surinam and Brazil.
The independence and growing musical confidence he found on the road were tempered with the hard life and hardships of making it on his own. NazB always knew within that his talent and his musical vision were destined for far better things. His struggle and his travels together forged his style and sound.
“The many places I’ve been have influenced me,” he says. “It all sounds different – you can hear different flavors and elements within my music.”
Now calling Zurich, Switzerland, home. his most recent single “Shame” is a socially conscious track that deals with a very delicate issue.
The Swiss artist dedicated the song to rape victims, reflecting on the senseless brutality of this crime. Moreover, the proceeds coming from the sales of the single will be devolved to local charity Wiesser Ring, an organisation with the purpose of raising awareness on the issue of rape and supporting victims.
NazB latest Single “Attention” is slated to be released in November under Bow Bowah Records Switzerland. The Official Music Video will be released on the 28th of November and the album will be in store on the 5th of December.
NazB has also enjoyed recent top exposure on Switzerland’s Robo Clip SF2 Television, and on Canadian Music Television as well as TV play in Africa. he was the most voted Coca Cola’s Music Artist for 2009 in Switzerland.
He performed his brand of international new-school hip-hop at venues in various countries such as : Nigeria, Togo, Senegal, Surinam, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, UK, Brazil and Local Switzerland clubs
As a nod to NazB’s songwriting and performing talent, he was among the top 500 song contest winners on the 16th annual Billboard song contest. NazB also had the privilege of opening the World Thai Boxing Championships in 2007 @ Jako Arena Bamberg Germany (The Champions Club Fight Night). With a load of studio and performing credentials under his belt and his future in music wide open, NazB says he keeps going for the joy and passion he finds in his music.
